TQC Helps Students Achieve Higher Education Dreams!

Are you a student, parent, or caregiver wondering how you’re going to cover the cost of next term’s tuition? Well, that’s exactly what The Quad Connection (TQC) here to help you do!

TQC helps connect students with generous donors looking to give back to students in just a few easy steps! Our unique platform was created to facilitate scholarships to lessen the cost of tuition through a one-of-a-kind Donor Database.

In addition to scholarships, we also aim to empower students and families to make informed financial decisions by partnering with and providing helpful tools to compare and estimate the cost of higher education.

Ready to get started? Take a look at how TQC can help set you on the path to higher education success!

How TQC Works

Step 1: 100% Confidential Online Registration

Register online by:

  • Answering a few questions about you;
  • Identifying your total semester financial need, and;
  • Sharing a brief confidential biography so TQC can learn more about you!

Remember: no student names are shared with TQC Donors and all biographies are 100% confidential, please do not add any clearly identifiable information in your biography submission.

Step 2: Get Approved by TQC

After registration, allow five business days for your profile information to be reviewed and approved by TQC before you are officially added to TQC Donor Database.

Step 3: TQC Donor Database

Once approved, your confidential student profile will be added to TQC Donor Database where donors are waiting to give back to students based on a variety of characteristics, like their alma mater, hometown, or major to name a few!

Step 4: Market Yourself to Family & Friends!

Sell yourself by telling your family, friends, and your network to “meet you in the Quad, ” where they too can register as donors and support the cause!

Step 5: Making A Quad Connection

Once a donor supports you with an online pledge:

  • You’ll receive a notification through your student profile and confirmation of the donation (i.e. a pledge becoming reality) approximately 21 days before your tuition due date.
  • TQC collects your donations and submits the funds directly to your school, on your behalf, in the form of a scholarship.

Step 6: You’re Now a Scholarship Recipient!

Now with the support of TQC Donors, you can focus on your semester studies and be empowered with a greater sense of financial freedom.

Have Questions? Here Are Some Helpful Student FAQs!

How is TQC different from another crowdsourcing platform like GoFundMe?

Crowdsourcing is a direct payment to YOU, meaning will be held responsible for taxes on any of the income received. TQC allows you to market yourself and issues a scholarship directly to the SCHOOL. You avoid any personal income tax liability, while providing the donor(s) the benefit of a tax deduction in accordance with the IRS and TQC’s 501(c)3 status.

What is the duration of my scholarship? Single term or ongoing?

TQC provides scholarships on a single term basis only. You must indicate your term and term values when completing the online registration and re-apply to be eligible for support each and every term.

What can my scholarship be used for?

TQC requires that all scholarships provided MUST be used for educational purposes only. As the recipient/student, you must understand that tuition, fees, books and supplies are not deemed as taxable income by the IRS. The IRS deems expenses/amounts such as incidental expenses, room and board, travel, and optional equipment as “taxable” income to the student.

What happens if I receive more in pledges than the amount of my upcoming semester tuition bill?

TQC only provides scholarships for the amount indicated in your registration submission. A running balance of pledges versus donations versus need indicated is always available when you log into your student account. Please note: TQC will issue the funds with the condition to the school, that any excess funds are returned to TQC. So, if you owe $10,000 and requested and raised $15,000, $5,000 will be returned to TQC. TQC in turn then contacts the donor(s) to see if there is another student they would like to support or if the funds should be returned to the donor.

What happens if I receive less in pledges than the amount of my upcoming semester tuition bill?

Unfortunately, not all can be helped to 100% of their true needs. TQC offers access to lending institutions like:

  • ISL Educational Lending
  • SoFi
  • College Ave
  • Ascent Funding
  • Sallie Mae

To arrange student loans to suit their individual needs.

If a student withdraws from a college prior to distribution, you should notify TQC as soon as possible, the scholarship will not be issued nor accepted by the school. TQC in turn then contacts the donor(s) to see if there is another student they would like to support or if the funds should be returned to the donor. If a student withdraws from a college or drops classes within the school’s grace period per the scholarship the school is to return the funds to TQC. TQC, in turn, then contacts the donor(s) to see if there is another student they would like to support or if the funds should be returned to the donor.
